Yanga SC’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has confirmed that 85% of the team-building process for the upcoming 2025/26 season has been completed.
Kamwe said the remaining 15% is in the final stages of completion before the team regroups for pre-season preparations.
"We’ve completed 85% of the squad we are building for next season. Only 15% remains to finalize the entire process," Kamwe stated.
"After that, the team is expected to report back during the last week of July for medicals and the unveiling of the new coach, before starting full preparations at the beginning of August."
He also revealed that during the transfer process, Yanga managed to sign a player who was previously in talks with one of the country’s top clubs.
"There are players we found already negotiating with other teams. But because those teams have too many people involved in decision-making, we moved faster."
"One player even told us, ‘I have a contract with one of the clubs in Tanzania, but I’m still waiting for confirmation and some unpaid dues.’ After reviewing him, we saw he fit our needs—and we signed him," Kamwe boasted.
Regarding the search for a new head coach, Kamwe confirmed that Yanga has already secured a new manager and is only waiting for the official unveiling.
He emphasized that the coach was selected based on Yanga’s strategic goals for the season ahead, describing him as a results-driven individual who matches the club’s ambition.
