Yanga SC is in advanced preparations to extend the contract of their talented Kenyan midfielder, Duke Abuya, following his impressive performance last season.
Sources within the club confirm that talks have already begun to secure a long-term stay for the midfielder at Jangwani, with his new contract expected to include improved terms.
Abuya, who is currently in Kilimanjaro participating in the Kili Icons Festival alongside other football stars, has become a fan favorite among Yanga supporters due to his significant impact on the pitch. His versatility in midfield earned him a key role under coach Miloud Hamdi, who has since left for Ismaily SC.
The Kenyan international joined Yanga last season on a free transfer from Singida Black Stars. At the time, his signing was considered modest, and few anticipated the exceptional level of performance he went on to deliver throughout the campaign.
Abuya's ability to operate in multiple midfield roles, along with his discipline, speed, and tactical awareness, made him a vital asset to Yanga’s midfield. His value has now multiplied significantly as a result.
