Yanga SC has provided clarification regarding the transfer agreement of their attacking midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, who recently joined Moroccan club Wydad Athletic.
Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, revealed that the club entered into a two-part agreement with Wydad concerning Aziz Ki's transfer.
According to Kamwe, Aziz Ki is still officially a Yanga player and is currently on a three-month loan deal at Wydad. The Moroccan club has until July 10, 2025, to make the transfer permanent.
"The contract signed between us and Wydad Casablanca regarding Stephane Aziz Ki included two key clauses," Kamwe explained.
"The first was a three-month agreement allowing them to evaluate his performance during the FIFA Club World Cup. If satisfied, they would then extend the deal to a full two-year contract."
"They paid a portion of the agreed transfer fee for the initial release letter so that the player could feature for them. As per the contract, by July 10, they must inform us of their decision—whether they wish to keep him permanently by completing the full payment."
"If they decide not to proceed, Aziz Ki will return home because he still has one year left on his contract with Yanga."
"We deliberately held back this information to allow the player to focus on the Club World Cup. Since Wydad fulfilled their initial payment, we’re now waiting for their final decision by July 10."
"If they're satisfied, they must pay the remaining amount as per the agreement. If not, the boy will come back home to continue dazzling defenders," Kamwe added confidently.
As per the terms of the agreement, if Wydad has not communicated with Yanga by July 11, Aziz Ki will return to complete the remaining one year of his contract with the Tanzanian club.
