ASEC Mimosas striker Selestin Ecua has officially bid farewell to the Ivorian club following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, and current speculation strongly links him with Tanzanian giants Yanga SC.
In his farewell message posted online, Ecua thanked the fans, technical bench, and management of ASEC Mimosas for giving him the opportunity to showcase his talent and grow as a footballer. This is a clear indication that the star is ready for a new challenge and, according to sources close to him, his next destination is likely to be Jangwani, Dar es Salaam.
Ecua is typically deployed as a right winger, left winger, attacking midfielder, and occasionally as a center-forward.
He emerged as one of the key players for ASEC following the departure of Karamoko Sankara and quickly surprised many with his ability to create chances and score crucial goals in both domestic and international competitions.
Yanga is targeting his signature, and he could potentially replace Jonathan Ikangalombo, who is reported to have failed to convince the technical team to retain him.
Just recently, while concluding Yanga’s championship parade celebrating five trophies from the past season, club president Engineer Hersi Said stated that the club is set for major squad upgrades with the aim of performing even better in next season’s CAF Champions League.
