After successfully defending the CRDB Cup for the fourth consecutive season with a 2-0 win over Singida Black Stars in the final held yesterday at the New Amaan Complex, Yanga's squad returns to Dar es Salaam today from Zanzibar.
The welcome reception will take place at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA), where the team is expected to land at 12:00 noon.
Yanga’s Media and Communication Manager, Ali Kamwe, has invited fans and club members to gather in large numbers at Terminal 1 to welcome their team and take part in a historic victory parade.
"We will depart from Zanzibar at 12:00 noon and expect to land at JNIA, Terminal 1, at 12:20. From there, we’ll begin our parade heading toward Yanga Headquarters in Jangwani," Kamwe stated.
"We’re going to have a one-of-a-kind parade—this season, we’ve worked extremely hard to defend these trophies."
"Our parade will have three key stops: Buruguni, Ilala Boma, and Msimbazi. At Msimbazi, we will stop for three hours—we have a lot to express from the heart," Kamwe boasted.
This has been a hugely successful season for Yanga, having defended all domestic titles and clinched the Toyota Cup in South Africa at the start of the season.
Yanga has now secured five trophies this season—potentially setting a club record for the most titles won in a single campaign.
