In Dar es Salaam today at Yanga’s Headquarters in Jangwani, there’s a unique event taking place! It's the tradition of drinking soup after slaying the 'Beast'!
This time, it’s not beef soup — it’s camel soup, courtesy of Yanga’s sponsor and benefactor GSM, who made the event possible.
It’s a moment for the fans — known as "Wananchi" — to celebrate together after successfully defending the Premier League title, to give thanks, and to pray for the team to finish the season well by retaining the CRDB Cup on Sunday.
This soup-drinking tradition among Wananchi was started three years ago and has now become an integral part of their culture.
