Former Yanga spokesperson Haji Manara has reaffirmed his statement that the team’s attacking midfielder, Pacome Zouzoua, will win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award this season.
Yesterday, Pacome led Yanga to a commanding 5-0 win over Tanzania Prisons, scoring twice in a match where he was named man of the match after the final whistle.
It marked his 7th man-of-the-match award this season, making him the player with the most such honors so far.
Manara had predicted Pacome would win the MVP title even before the season began, during the "Wiki ya Mwananchi" festival.
“Think about it—no journalist from Manara TV or any other outlet has ever asked me why I said Pacome would be the MVP of the 2024/25 season.”
“Even he himself, when I told him at Avic Town a day before the Wananchi Week celebrations, didn’t seem to fully understand me.”
“Yes, I told him, ‘I see you winning the MVP award this coming season,’ and he just laughed. But I had already seen his talent and intelligence on the pitch and told myself—he won’t be stopped this season.”
“Now, there’s no doubt that in the 2024/25 season, Pacome ‘Bugatti’ is on course to be handed this top national award,” Manara wrote on his social media page.
