Yanga SC has clearly stated its intention to win all three of its remaining matches in the NBC Premier League to defend its title for the fourth consecutive time and bring its total league championships to 31.
The club’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, emphasized that the team has major goals and that every remaining match is considered a final for them.
“I urge the fans to stand with us in these three matches to ensure we retain our championship for the fourth time,” said Kamwe.
Yanga faces three decisive final matches against Tanzania Prisons, Dodoma Jiji, and Simba SC, which Kamwe referred to as “must-win” encounters.
The first of these is against Tanzania Prisons, scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya. Kamwe stated that the team will travel from Dar es Salaam with only one objective—to secure all three points.
“Our next game is against Tanzania Prisons. We're heading to Mbeya with a single goal—taking three points from Prisons,” Kamwe said, urging fans to show up in large numbers.
According to Kamwe, preparations for a convoy of buses to Mbeya are ongoing, and he called on Yanga fans from Mbeya and neighboring regions to attend in large numbers to support the team.
After the match against Prisons, Yanga will head to Zanzibar for the second match against Dodoma Jiji FC, which will be played on June 22 at the New Amaan Complex Stadium.
The league season will conclude with the historic derby between Yanga and Simba SC, set for June 25 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam—a game that could determine this season's champion.
Yanga enters these matches at the top of the league table with 73 points. Victories in the remaining fixtures will guarantee the Citizens their fourth straight title.
