Yanga’s Communications and Media Manager, Ali Kamwe, has revealed that the club has not been paid the championship prize money for winning the CRDB Cup last season.
Speaking at a press conference today, Kamwe stated that they have notified TFF Secretary General Wilfred Kidao that if the funds are not paid, Yanga will not participate in this season’s final match against Singida Black Stars, scheduled to be held on June 28 in Zanzibar.
“This message is directed to the office of the TFF Secretary General and the sponsors of the CRDB Federation Cup: WE WILL NOT PLAY the CRDB final match on the 28th unless we are paid our championship prize from last season. We have tolerated this disrespect from football authorities for too long—this ends now. We will not play the Zanzibar match either.”
“If they think we are joking, let them continue ignoring us. In this matter, Yanga Sports Club is more serious than they think, and we are ready for whatever comes next. And if anyone among them thinks it will be easy to deduct Yanga's points—let them try and wait to witness THE POWER OF WANANCHI,” Kamwe declared.
