Yanga SC is continuing preparations for its final three matches of the season—two in the NBC Premier League and one in the Federation Cup.
The reigning NBC PL champions have already begun early planning to strengthen their squad for next season.
As part of those efforts, Yanga is reportedly targeting the signature of Tabora United’s attacking midfielder, Offen Chikola, to add more local talent.
Chikola, who has long been linked with a move to Yanga, is set to finish his contract with Tabora United at the end of the season.
His signing is part of a broader strategy to increase competition in the attacking midfield department.
Chikola will face competition from players such as Maxi Nzengeli, Clement Mzize, and Farid Mussa—who may, however, be sent out on loan, with Singida Black Stars and Mbeya City said to be interested in him.
In this NBC Premier League season, Chikola has scored seven goals. This sets up strong internal competition at Yanga, as Maxi Nzengeli has five goals and nine assists, while Mzize boasts 13 goals and three assists.
