While the League Board continues to insist that NBC Premier League match number 184 between Yanga and Simba, scheduled for June 15, will take place, Yanga SC the home team for the match has stated that the game is not part of their schedule and therefore, no preparations are being made on their side.
Recently, League Board spokesperson Karim Boimanda, during an interview with Azam TV, said preparations for the match are going well and that ticket sale procedures will soon be announced.
Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager has clarified that, according to the regulations, the home team is responsible for announcing ticket sales arrangements since they are the ones who entered into an agreement with N-Card, not the League Board or anyone else.
"According to the regulations, we, as the hosts of the match, are responsible for key preparations including announcing the gate charges for the match. We have an agreement with N-Card regarding ticket sales. After the match that was supposed to be played on March 8 didn’t happen, we informed N-Card to suspend ticket sales."
"Therefore, the only people who should announce ticket sales are us, and even N-Card would require our authorization to sell tickets."
"We have not announced any ticket sales and we have stated clearly that no tickets will be sold to fans for the June 15 match, because our position remains — we will not play," said Kamwe.
