Despite emphasizing that Yanga will not go to the stadium on June 15 to play match number 184 against Simba, Yanga elders and branch leaders have announced a firm stance that no Yanga supporter should attend the stadium on that day.
This includes club leaders—anyone who attempts to take the team to the stadium should know that they will have effectively removed themselves from leadership.
Additionally, the elders have banned any media outlet broadcasting the match from mentioning Yanga’s name.
Regarding the issue of Simba being awarded three points and Yanga being docked 15 points, the elders stated that they do not expect the League Board to penalize Yanga. They argue that doing so would confirm Yanga’s complaints and mistrust in the Board, especially considering the Board took no such action on March 8 when Simba failed to show up.
So far, the League Board has not responded to Yanga’s claims, despite a letter sent by the club to the Board on March 9. Among Yanga's demands is being awarded three points for that match, in accordance with league rules.
Furthermore, the elders said that if the Board deducts points from Yanga, that would mark the end of the season.
“June 15 will set the tone for our June 18 match. If we are docked those 15 points, the league ends right there. There is no leader who can take 15 points from us—if they even try, the league will be over,” said Shabani Omary Mgonja, a Yanga elder and also the Branches Coordinator.
