Yanga Head Coach Miloud Hamdi has said that preparations for his team ahead of the final three matches of the season are going well.
After a 10-day break, Yanga resumed training early Monday in preparation for the season’s closing matches. The "Wananchi" are set to face two Premier League games against Tanzania Prisons and Dodoma Jiji, as well as the CRDB Federation Cup final against Singida Black Stars.
Hamdi stated that the players have important tasks in the two remaining league matches and the Federation Cup final to secure positive results. He emphasized that the team is ready to maintain their winning momentum.
The coach mentioned that Pacome Zouzoua and Khalid Aucho have returned to full training and competition after being sidelined for a while due to injuries, which caused them to miss several past matches.
“We have a big job to do in the two remaining league games. We believe they’ll be tough because the teams we’re facing also need wins—especially our hosts in the first away game who are in a tough spot and need the three points to stay up. But we also need those points to defend our title.”
“The most important thing is for everyone to fulfill their responsibilities on time. I believe we’ll do well and get good results in the upcoming games. What gives me hope is the return of my players, who are already back in competition,” he said.
Hamdi added that apart from players called up to national teams and defender Yao Kouassi who is injured, the rest of the squad is in good shape and ready to fight for the six points.
“Morale is high and preparations are going well. On June 18, we’ll be away to face Tanzania Prisons. It won’t be an easy game, but I have great confidence in my squad. Everyone is fit except Yao, and we’re praying for the safe return of those on international duty.”
“The return of Pacome and Aucho has boosted the squad, especially considering one key player, Stephane Aziz Ki, has left the team,” Hamdi added.
