Yanga SC has officially submitted a request to play their final NBC Premier League match against Dodoma Jiji at the New Amaan Complex Stadium in Zanzibar on June 22, a date on which all final league matches will be played simultaneously across the country.
According to league regulations, a home team is allowed to host two matches away from their traditional home ground, and Yanga has taken advantage of this provision to stage their final match on the Isles. This move is part of the club’s broader strategy to strengthen its connection with fans in Zanzibar while also preparing adequately for upcoming assignments.
After their June 18 match against Tanzania Prisons, the Yanga squad is expected to travel directly to Zanzibar, where they will stay for approximately 10 days.
In addition to their final league match, Yanga will also play the CRDB Cup final against Singida Black Stars, which is also scheduled to take place at the New Amaan Complex. This makes their stay on the Isles a crucial part of their end-of-season preparations.
Yanga is determined to defend both the Premier League and FA Cup titles, which they have held for three consecutive seasons.
