Yanga’s Media and Communications Manager, Ali Kamwe, has stated that the club had already submitted its official position to the League Board regarding its decision not to play match number 184 of the Premier League against Simba SC, which is scheduled for June 15 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Kamwe's statement comes a day after League Board spokesperson Karim Boimanda was quoted by media outlets claiming that the board had not received any official communication from Yanga concerning their refusal to play the match.
Kamwe affirmed that the club has been in communication with the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) and has submitted its grievances, for which they are awaiting a formal response.
"Our position as a club regarding match number 184 is clear. Everything that needed to be submitted has already been presented to the League Board, and we are now waiting to see their response," Kamwe said.
"At this point, we cannot publicly disclose what Yanga has specifically demanded, but it should be understood that Yanga has already made its position known and communication channels have been used to present it."
"Now, if they are saying they haven’t received any information from us, then there is a problem. We are speaking from our side, we are in communication with the League Board, and our submissions have been sent," Kamwe emphasized.
