The NBC Premier League has entered a state of uncertainty following reports that five teams have threatened to boycott the final two matches of the current season.
These teams have declared that they will not participate in the matches unless the League Board (TPLB) provides satisfactory responses regarding complaints about refereeing decisions and violations of league regulations in recent games.
According to reliable sources, the teams have already submitted official letters to the board, expressing their dissatisfaction with what they describe as a series of blatant favoritism incidents and breaches of the rules without any serious action being taken against those responsible.
Yanga SC is among the teams involved and is already in conflict with the TPLB. The club has announced its decision not to play their scheduled match against arch-rivals Simba SC on June 15, and may now also boycott their remaining two league fixtures.
If this action by the clubs goes ahead, it could cause a major rift within the league and significantly impact the outcome of the entire season. Additionally, it may damage the trust of fans, sponsors, and the overall reputation of Tanzanian football.
