While Yanga earned approximately TSh 2 billion after selling attacking midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, it is likely that the club (nicknamed Wananchi) will conduct more business in the upcoming transfer window.
Information from within Yanga’s management has indicated that offers for goalkeeper Djigui Diarra and striker Clement Mzize are currently being evaluated.
Previously, Mzize was in the process of joining Wydad Athletic alongside Aziz Ki, but it is reported that Yanga has since received a more lucrative offer for Mzize from another club based in either Africa or Europe.
As for Diarra, there are offers from clubs in the Arab world, but also interest from Kaizer Chiefs, who are now coached by former Yanga boss Nasreddine Nabi. The Chiefs have expressed a desire to sign him.
The Chiefs also showed interest in Mzize. Earlier this year, Nabi himself traveled to Tanzania to hold talks with Yanga management.
If Yanga allows Diarra to leave, it is clear that his replacement will be Nigerian goalkeeper Amas Obasogie, who currently plays for Singida Black Stars.
When Singida BS unveiled Obasogie, they revealed that the former Fasil Kenema (Ethiopia) star — who is also part of Nigeria’s national team — was signed under a special agreement with Yanga.
It’s clear that Yanga will be busy during the upcoming transfer window, which opens on July 1
