Yanga striker, Prince Dube is quietly chasing his own record despite having the best season
Dube joined Yanga at the beginning of this season from Azam where in his first season in the Mainland Premier League, the 2020/21 season, he scored 14 goals, so he is three goals away from breaking his own record, but in the 2022/23 season, he scored 12 goals, he is only one goal away from breaking that record with six matches in hand, excluding the derby, whose fate is unknown.
Dube this season while in the Yanga squad, has scored 11 goals and provided seven assists, so he has been involved in 18 of the 61 goals scored by the team so far in the 23 matches that his team has played.
Despite retaining three goals to reach his own record, he has already surpassed that record by helping Yanga to be involved in 18 goals so far and set a record to have a great season in the Desert Warriors squad.
With Azam, he played three and a half seasons, scoring 34 goals in 54 matches. In the 2020-2021 season, he scored 14 goals, while in the 2021-21 season, he entered the camp immediately due to injuries that kept him out for a while, while in the 2022-23 season, he scored 12 and in the last season for Azam FC (2023-24), he played six months and managed to score seven goals.
Dube has said that being trusted and given the opportunity to play in Yanga is what will give him the opportunity to do greater things and he is doing it by competing with his 'shadow', no one is watching him.
