After the League Board (TPLB) claimed that corruption allegations were one of the reasons that led to the postponement of the Premier League match between Yanga and Simba that was supposed to be played on March 08 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau (PCCB), which according to the laws of the country is responsible for investigating corruption allegations, has no information about the existence of such allegations.
Interviewed by a news agency earlier today, Holle Makungu, who is the Head of the PCCB for Temeke Region, said there was no information that corruption was involved in the match.
"We have not initiated an investigation because there was no information that corruption was involved in the match."
"According to the Laws and Authorities of the country, the body that deals with investigating corruption issues is the PCCB, but if it is just conflicts between people not respecting sports rules, then those are matters for sports bodies," Makungu said.
