Yanga hosted the Premier League match against Simba which was scheduled to be played on Saturday, March 08 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
A statement from within the Yanga leadership has revealed that the champions of Mainland Tanzania are assessing the losses they have suffered and will demand compensation for the league board's decision to postpone the match with just a few hours left to play
Yesterday after the match was postponed, Yanga's Information and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe said that by 7 pm on the day of the match, 40,000 fans had purchased tickets
Kamwe said the authorities would conduct an assessment and assured fans who purchased tickets to witness the match that their rights would be protected
"Leaders are assessing the losses caused by the postponement of the match against Simba on Saturday"
"There are huge costs incurred from camp preparations, advertising and other things, so it is not easy to know immediately "One, that's why they are currently meeting to put things right, but the truth is that Yanga has suffered losses of millions of shillings because of the selfishness of a few," said the informant.
Yanga has planned to demand its rights from higher authorities if it happens that they will not be given that right by local authorities
