Yanga head coach Miguel Gamondi has criticized the procedure of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in the schedule of CAF competitions at club level and national teams
Currently, various leagues are standing in Africa to pass the schedule to qualify for the Afcon 2025 championship for national teams and soon it will be followed by the CAF schedule for clubs
This procedure has been hurting the clubs participating in the CAF championship, especially those that provide many players in the national teams
"I do not agree with this arrangement of CAF competition schedules (clubs and national teams) following each other closely"
"For example, we in Yanga should play in Ethiopia on September 13 when the national team matches will be concluded on September 10, for our players who are going to the national teams, that means they will not have time off because if they leave the national teams they will probably have to travel one for one towards Ethiopia"
"We have 14 players who have been named to the national team, it is a schedule that causes challenges for the club because the players will have to travel for a long time," said Gamondi
Similar circumstances happened to Yanga last season when they went to Algeria to play the first match of the Champions League group stage against CR Belouizdad and lost the game by losing 3-0
In that game, the goalkeeper Djiguo Diarra failed to join the Algerian team after the challenge of traveling when he finished the duties of the national team while Stephane Aziz Ki landed in Algeria on the eve of the game day
Yanga has 14 players who are on national team duties and probably some of them will have to travel directly to Ethiopia after the national team matches are over
Djigui Diarra, Aboutwalib Mshery, Nickson Kibagage, Dickson Job, Ibrahim Bacca, Bakari Nondo Mwamnyeto and Mudathir Yahya
Others are Khalid Aucho, Duke Abuya, Stephane Aziz Ki, Clatous Chama, Kennedy Musonda, Prince Dube and Clement Mzize
