After concluding 10 days of the second phase of the pre-season in South Africa, the Yanga squad has returned to the country this morning, Tuesday
Yanga left the country on July 18 for South Africa where, as part of its preparations, it participated in the Mpumalanga International Premier's Cup and Toyota Cup
Despite losing the game against Augsburg, which participates in the German Premier League, the Citizens resisted in the game that ended with Augsburg winning 2-1
Yanga won the second match 1-0 against TS Galaxy and then won the Toyota Cup with a 4-0 victory against Kaizer Chiefs
Speaking after returning earlier today, Yanga Head Coach Miguel Gamondi said his team has received good preparation which he believes will help them have a better season 2024/25
"It was a good preparation for us, we have played competitive matches, the result is not very important but let me tell you that the players have had a good preparation"
"As a technical bench, we have had time to work with new players and see how much they will contribute to our team"
"We have 27 players and they are all ready to be used in the various competitions we will participate in, the important thing will depend on the plan of each match and the type of opponent we will meet"
"From the beginning I said here that the names of the players are not played, but each player will get a chance based on what he gives in the training ground," said Gamondi
The Yanga players have been given a day's rest before completing preparations for the peak game of Mwananchi's week against the Red Arrows on Sunday
