Yanga Information and Communication Manager Ali Kamwe through his social media pages has given Yanga fans the chance to suggest the team they would like to be invited to the peak of Mwananchi week August 04
Many opinions have fallen on the Mamelodi Sundowns club of South Africa. It is probably due to what happened in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season when Yanga was eliminated by penalty kicks 3-2 after the result of a scoreless draw for 180 minutes.
But the Citizens believe they deserved to reach the semi-finals because their team scored a legitimate goal through Stephane Aziz Ki but the referees rejected it
When CAF President Patrice Motsepe came to the country to witness the CAF Championship for Secondary Schools which was held in Zanzibar earlier this year, he admitted that Yanga were bullied for their goal being disallowed in the second leg game played in South Africa
These words were just like cooling the people because Motsepe is the owner of Sundowns and those bad decisions benefited his team because after reaching the semi-finals they guaranteed themselves to participate in the club World Cup championship that will be held in 2025 in the United States. The tournament will involve 32 teams and will be run by FIFA in the same order as the World Cup
Now the Citizens want Sundowns to finish each other early before they meet in a special competition
Information from within the leadership of Yanga has indicated that Sundowns are among those that Yanga aims to invite
However, the availability of the team can be a challenge as they also have their own pre-season schedule which takes place in Europe
On July 28 Yanga will be in South Africa to face Kaizer Chiefs in the Toyota Cup game where after the game they will return to the country ready for the peak of Mwananchi week
