The fans of Yanga and Simba are ready for their teams to compete today in the Premier League match that will be played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, in Dar es Salaam.
Yanga enters the game with high morale especially after their last match played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on November 5, 2023 beating Simba 5-1.
In the last game, Yanga's goals were scored by Maxi Nzengeli who scored two while Kennedy Musonda, Pacome Zouzoua and Stephane Aziz KI scored one each while Simba's goal was scored by Kibu Denis.
Records show that the teams have met 60 times on Saturdays in the Premier League since they started meeting in 1965, with Yanga being the most dominant in front of Simba as they have won 25 times and lost 16 with 19 games being a draw
In those games, a total of 124 goals were scored and Yanga scored 72, while Simba scored 52.
The big defeat that is remembered on Saturday is the one that Yanga beat Simba when it was known as Sunderland with 5-0 goals, on June 1, 1968 scored by Maulid Dilunga and Salehe Zimbwe who scored two each and Kitwana Manara.
However, this is the 14th match for the teams to meet in April in the Premier League since 1965 and in the last 13 matches Simba have won four while Yanga won three times and the remaining six games ended in a draw
The former coach of Yanga and Singida Fountain Gate, Hans Van de Pluijm said the game between the rocks is always unpredictable due to its difficulty because one person can do something that can bring profit or loss to the team.
"It's a big and difficult game for every team, although if you look at Yanga's behavior at the moment, you can give them a win, although I believe that the one who will be careful in using the space well and avoiding mistakes will be the one who will have the most advantage," he said
