Yanga head coach Miguel Gamondi has said that the quarter-final match between Yanga and Mamelodi Sundowns will be competitive and they will be ready to face the South African champions
Speaking after the quarter-final draw held in Egypt earlier today, Gamondi said he knows Mamelodi Sundowns very well as they are among the clubs he has coached.
"I know Mamelodi Sundowns very well, they play football similar to us, I have coached this team and achieved success, so they are not strangers to me"
"Mamelodi is currently one of the biggest teams in Africa, if you look at their registration budget you will see that. They once bought an Argentine player for 4 million dollars. So this is a big team compared to us" p>
"But when we get to the field it's 11 players against 11, I believe my players we can surprise them at this stage"
"We want Yanga to be among the top five teams in Africa, now we can't get there without competing with those who are already at the top," said Gamondi
And the President of Yanga, Engineer Hersi Said, has said that his leadership has received the draw for the quarter finals and they will prepare, to make sure they do well, the goal being to get Yanga to the semi finals
