The 2022/23 season was a great success for Yanga where the champions of mainland Tanzania won all the local titles as well as playing in the final of the Confederation Cup (CAF CC)
It was hard to believe the fans when they were informed that their head coach Nasreddine Nabi is leaving with his important people on the technical bench
At the General Meeting of the year, the President of Yanga Engineer Hersi Said announced the arrival of Miguel Gamondi, a citizen of Argentina
The citizens were informed that Gamondi will form his own technical bench at that time.
Contrary to the expectations of many, Gamondi announced Taibi Lagrouni from Morocco as the new sports coach
Lagrouni has only needed two months to make the people forget the name of Helmey who joined Orlando Pirates of South Africa
Lagrouni is responsible for keeping the players fit and he has certainly done his job well
Yanga is playing tough football which has given problems to all the teams they met this season as no team managed to abuse them with possession of the ball in their 9 games they played in all competitions.
Gamondi said it was not a coincidence to bring Lagrouni who has served RS Berkane. He knew him for a long time
"I have known him for a long time, he is a good coach with a lot of experience in recruiting players, for me he is one of my assistants who has helped strengthen our players here," said Gamondi
In strengthening Lagrouni's work, the Yanga bosses also brought down training equipment at the camp in Dar es Salaam, which are the needs of the Moroccan coach.
The devices to measure the player's speed and how fast he has run in the field, but also different training devices have been brought down to the Yanga camp which were needed by the coaches.
