Yanga head coach Miguel Gamondi has congratulated his players for successfully reaching the group stage of the CAF Champions League after a 3-0 aggregate victory against Al Merrikh
Speaking after the second leg game played at the Azam Complex and Yanga emerged with a 1-0 victory, Gamondi said they deserved to enter the group stage which they had not participated in for about 25 years
"I congratulate the players for today's victory, we dominated the game and created many chances. We controlled our opponents well because they did not create any dangerous chances"
"Sometimes it's not easy to play an important match in front of your fans when you play against a team that has nothing to lose, but I'm glad we were able to emerge victorious"

Taking over the responsibilities left by Nasreddine Nabi, coach Gamondi has been able to make Yanga better despite the introduction of several new players and managed to take them to the CAF CL group stage
Nabi who responded to FAR Rabat, on his part, things were not good as he failed to help the team qualify for the groups after losing 2-1 at home to Etoile Du Sahel
FAR Rabat were eliminated with a total of 3-1 goals against Etoile from Tunisia
