After the weekend break, Yanga Sc is returning to training today to continue with the preparations for the first round game to compete for a ticket to enter the group stage of the CAF Champions League
Saturday September 16th 2023, Yanga will be away in Rwanda to face El Merrikh in the first round game
Yanga manager Walter Harrison has said that there will be continuous training sessions organized by Coach Miguel Gamondi and his technical bench, the aim of which is to ensure that they are ready for the game against El Merrikh
Harrison has also said that they expect to play one friendly match this week as part of the preparation
"After the weekend break, the team will continue training on Monday (today). We will have various training sessions based on the plans of the technical bench"
"With the time we have, we will probably play one friendly match before the team goes to Rwanda ready for the game," said Harrison
The good news for Gamondi is that some of the players who are on national team duties will return early after the matches to qualify for the Afcon 2023 championship
The eight Yanga stars who are with the Tanzanian national team 'Taifa Stars' are expected to return to join their colleagues after the game against Algeria that will be played on Thursday, September 07
