ASAS FC have won the Djibouti League seven times and the Djibouti Cup three times and are the most successful club in the country
They have never gone beyond the preliminary stage of the Champions League or the Confederations Cup in Africa
Last season it took part in the Federation Cup and was thrown out of the first stage by losing 1-0 to AS Kigali of Rwanda
On Sunday of this week they will be in Tanzania to face Yanga in the first leg of the preliminary stage of the African Champions League
Since their stadium did not meet the criteria of CAF, the team has had to play its home match at the Azam Complex
The first game will be played on August 20 at home and the second game will be played on August 28 at Yanga as the hosts
Both matches being played in Tanzania is a big advantage for Yanga, coach Miguel Gamondi's young men have a job to make sure they finish the game on Sunday so that the second game is just to complete the schedule
