Yanga Head Coach Miguel Gamondi has congratulated his young men for successfully emerging with a 2-0 victory against Azam Fc in the Community Shield semi-final game played at Mkwakwani Stadium yesterday
Speaking to press after the game, Gamondi said they deserved the win because they were better than their opponents especially in the second half
Gamondi said that in the first half they did not play at their best, it is due to that being the first competitive game while they were doing hard pre-season training
Gamondi was also not happy with the condition of Mkwakwani's 'pitch', his youth were not free to play their football
"I congratulate my players for winning this game. We expected the game to be difficult because this is the first game of the tournament this season"
"In the second half we were better, we created more chances than our opponents who didn't create any chances. There was a challenge on the pitch because it didn't allow us to play the way we wanted, but the important thing for us is that we scored two goals and advanced to the next stage"
Gamondi has said that his team is loaded with good players, there are times when he will make a 'rotation' according to the matches they face
Some players were not used yesterday because they were not ready to be used in the game
Striker Hafiz Konkoni and attacking midfielder Pacome Zouzoua witnessed the game from the stage
The stars were late to join their colleagues in the pre-season held in Avic Town
