Before Yanga begin camp for the preparation of the new season (2023/24), the future of striker Fiston Mayele will be known
Mayele is expected to hold a final meeting with Yanga on Monday where after the meeting it will be known whether he stays or sold
Yanga made Mayele an offer to extend contract but at the same time there are rich offers from other clubs which makes the player demand more
Mayele has confirmed that they will hold a final meeting with the management on Monday, the day all players are required to report to Avic Town
"It is true that there are offers from Africa, Europe, Belgium and Qatar, the management knows. I am still a player of Yanga until 2024, We will talk with the management for the last session, on Monday we will know if I will leave or if I will stay," said Mayele
The pressure is mounting on Mayele, who in one of her interviews clearly said that what he needs is money, with internal reports suggesting that he has not agreed to the salary offer that Yanga has put on the table (Approximately 34 million per month)
That salary would make Mayele the highest paid player in Tanzania but it is clear that the offers on the table are richer
Yanga may have to take a difficult decision to sell him and return to the market to look for a replacement striker
Because if he does not sign a new contract, he will leave for free at the end of next season when his contract ends
His case is similar to the case of PSG striker Kylian Mbappe, who has one year remaining on his contract while refusing to extend contract
PSG have given Mbappe until July 31 to decide, sign a new contract or be sold as the club is not ready for him to leave as a free agent
Yanga was the one that promoted Mayele's brand getting the chance to be called to the DR Congo national team for the first time and now being contested by many clubs
Yanga cannot accept the player leaving for free next season if it is not possible to extend his contract then they can take the money
