The decision of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to refuse Rivers United from using their stadium in Adokiye Amiesimaka, Port Harcourt in the first leg of the CAF Confederation cup quarter-final against Yanga could be beneficial to the Citizens
Rivers United hoped to get approval from CAF, to return to their home ground after major renovations were completed
But their request was rejected by CAF and instead they will continue to play their home games at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium which only holds about 10,000 fans while their STadium Adokiye Amiesimaka holds up to 40,000 fans
Rivers United played group stage matches at Godswill Akpabio stadium winning two matches and drawing one game. It is clear that they are afraid of using the Godswill Akpabio stadium due to not having many fans
Sunday's match against Yanga will be played by South African referee Abongile Tom
The game is as if it will be played in a 'neutral' field and Yanga has a chance to get good results
Yanga needs to win away from home and even when they fails, a draw will be good
