Acting Director of Sports Development in Tanzania, Ally Mayay has advised Tanzanian players to have managers who will manage their affairs including the issue of contracts to avoid conflicts
Mayay made the statement following the misunderstanding of contract that emerged between midfielder Feisal Salum and Yanga
In addition, Mayay has asked all parties involved in the saga to sit down to resolve the issue so that each side can benefit
"One of the shortcomings that we have seen is the players not having managers who manage their issues, they need Managers"
"All of them are stakeholders in sports, we want success, so we ask that these issues be resolved, both parties should agree because we, the Government, are parents, we want the success of all," Mayay was quoted by Mwananchi
After Feisal announced the termination of his contract, Yanga protested by filing a complaint with the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Law and Status Committee
The committee confirmed that Feisal and Yanga's contract is valid because the player did not follow the procedures to terminate it
However, since the Committee' decision, Feisal has not yet returned to Yanga where earlier this week the Chief Executive (CEO) of Yanga Andre Mtine reminded him to return to continue his duties as per his contract
Despite Feisal's 'unknown disappearance', Yanga has continued to fulfill its obligations by paying him salary and bonus in accordance with the contract agreement
If this matter is not resolved, it is clear that Feisal will continue to be out of the field probably until his contract expires in June 2024, and he may face even greater punishment from the football Management authorities if Yanga decides to take action against his absenteeism
