Tanzanians today celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the death of the founder and first President of Tanzania, Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere.
Mwalimu Nyerere died on October 14, 1999 while in England while he was being treated for an illness that was bothering him
It is obvious that Mwalimu Nyerere is remembered for many basic things he prioritized during his leadership
One of the things he said on July 29, 1985, was: "The work that was most important to me was to build a united nation based on respect and human equality"
Always this nation and its generations will continue to remember him and honor his noble will and leadership
