The League Management and Operations Committee of the League Board has banned Yanga winger Bernard Morrison for three matches after stepping on Azam Fc player Lusajo Mwaikenda in the Yanga vs Azam match at Mkapa Stadium
Morrison will also pay a fine of Tsh 1 million. The 72-hour committee has issued a statement today, 16 days after the game in question!
The penalty will cause Morrison to miss the match against Simba which will be played on October 23 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium
Morrison will miss the matches against Ruvu Shooting, Namungo Fc and Simba
If the penalty had been given before the game against Mtibwa Sugar, or the game against Ihefu FC had not been moved forward, Morrison could have had a chance to play the game against Simba
This punishment will obviously bring back the debate that the Committee has not hesitated to punish mistakes made by Yanga players but it is the opposite when mistakes are made by other teams...!
