Yanga Sc has expressed surprise after missing an invitation to participate in the General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football (CAF)
The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Yanga, lawyer Simon Patrick, speaking to the E-fm radio, said that they had to monitor the meeting through the internet after not receiving an invitation.
Simon said that Yanga, who are national champions, wished to be present at the ongoing meeting in Arusha attended by the President of the World Football Federation (FIFA).
"Unfortunately we don't know what happened and we (Yanga) didn't get an invitation, we decided to take advantage of technology to be able to monitor this meeting"
"It's a good thing, we're glad it happened here in Tanzania, for the wider benefit of our country, they got to promote tourism, they got to experience the beauty of Tanzania," said Simon
Simon said that although the meeting is for CAF but they are aware that the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) should have recognized Yanga's opportunity to participate in the meeting by giving them an invitation like they did to Simba
