The head coach of the new Mainland Premier League champions, Yanga, Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi has said the championship is a gift to his family which has been a constant source of comfort despite being away from them
Yanga emerged victorious with a 3-0 win over Coastal Union on Wednesday and were declared the new Premier League champions in mainland Tanzania after reaching 67 points which would not be achieved by any other team, having played 27 matches with three remaining.
Yanga goals were scored by Fiston Mayele who netted twice another scored by Ushindi Chiko, the game being played at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
"I'm glad to win the championship, it was not an easy task and I congratulate my players and the Yanga leadership for the co-operation they showed me until we have won the championship," said Nabi.
He said all the matches they played were like finals and claimed that every team they played against was very aggressive, but they were not giving them a chance.
He said they will continue the same morale in the remaining three games to finish this season without losing a single game.
