Yanga striker Fiston Mayele and midfielder Feisal Salum have sparked joy from MPs after the Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr Mwigulu Nchemba, mentioned their names.
The celebration took place today, June 14, 2022 in parliament when Mwigulu presented the Government's proposals on revenue and expenditure estimates for the year 2022-2023.
As soon as Mwigulu mentioned the names of the players, the MPs started cheering with applause.
"I congratulate GSM for restoring the happiness of the citizens especially with the signing of Fiston Mayele. Mayele has become more popular than the Secretaries of some political parties" Minister Mwigulu said
Dr Mwigulu also joked as he apologized to the Prime Minister for the Fei Toto goal he scored against Simba in the FA Cup semi-final match in Mwanza
"I take this opportunity to congratulate Yanga on their excellent performance this year and take this opportunity to apologize to my boss the Prime Minister for the act done by my son Fei Toto in Mwanza
"When I sent Fei Toto to Yanga, I did not know he was going to do something bad to you, I hear he is wanted by killing an animal without permission"
