Director of Law and Members of the Yanga club Simon Patrick has clarified a number of important issues towards the Branch elections which are expected to take place from March 18 to the end of April 2022
Here are the key points to consider;
1. Each branch must elect a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer and 4 Members This is in accordance with Article 62 (3) of the Yanga Constitution.
2. The cost of contesting for these positions is Tsh. 30,000 / = for the position of Chairman and Vice Chairman, Tsh. 20,000 / = for Secretary and Assistant Secretary, Tsh. 30,000 / = for the position of Treasurer and Tsh. 15,000 / = for member positions, these funds will be paid to the relevant branch and will remain at the branch for branch use.
3. Each branch shall be represented by 5 persons at the General Assembly which is the Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and 2 members (one must be a woman if present) this is in accordance with Article 17 (1) of the Yanga Constitution.
4. All branches in the country are required to start the election process from 18/03/2022 to 30/04/2022 where each branch is required to send a list of all Leaders elected to the Chief Executive of the Club.
5. The only branches to be recognized and represented at the General Assembly are those that meet the qualifications to have more than 100+ Members for local branches and 20+ Members for foreign branches in accordance with Article 62 (1). ) of the Yanga Constitution.
