Yanga Head Coach Nasreddine Nabi has said despite recognizing the difficulty of the NBC Premier League this season, referees still have a responsibility to protect the health of players
Nabi made the statement following a series of injuries that befell his players in every game where so far about seven players are injured
Nabi said he is aware that the League is tough and many teams are struggling to get results so there are a lot of contact between players that cause injuries but he wonders why in every game more than two players have to suffer injuries that keep them out for a long time
"We know the League has been tough the players are very committed to winning so contacts happen it is normal, but why it happens so much for our players see this game we are missing many key players apart from Shaban and Ushindi who have Malaria"
"So we ask the referees to protect the players not only of Yanga but also to protect all the players and prevent them from injuries that costs their teams," said Nabi
Nabi has confirmed that players Khalid Aucho and Saido Ntibazonkiza will also miss the game against Geita Gold after suffering injuries.
They join Chrispine Ngushi, David Bryson and Yacouba Songne who are still out while Ushindi and Shabani Djuma are ill
Despite missing those players, Yanga assistant coach Cedrick Kaze said their squad is strong enough to secure all three points against Geita Gold
"We can't be complacent about missing these players as they were absent from previous games and we won. It is our responsibility on the technical bench to see who can take their place as we have so many good players," said Kaze
