Today is 87 years since the formation of the Yanga Sc, February 11, 1935. Yanga was originally founded with the aim of becoming a part of Tanganyika's struggle for independence through sports.
The origin of the so-called Wananchi's team is based on the history of its inception as during the independence movement the late Father of the Nation Mwalimu Julius Nyerere used Yanga as a place to meet and discuss the liberation movement
Yanga has been more successful than any other club on Tanzanian soil, if you talk about a team with many trophies, you will name Yanga. In its history there is also no team with more fans in Tanzania than Yanga
After going through a lot of challenges, finally this year Yanga has written another history as the first club to make a real Transformation
