NBC Premier League clubs have called for talks to bring GSM back following the co-sponsor's resignation
GSM withdrew as co-sponsor for what was alleged to be TFF's failure to honor some of the terms of the agreement
Football stakeholders have been divided over the issue, with many calling for urgent talks between GSM and TFF to be resolved and to address the shortcomings in order to restore GSM
Ruvu Shooting Information Officer, Masau Bwire noted that GSM departure is a major blow to clubs
"They should find a solution as the league needs more sponsors and not lose them" said Bwire while admitting they had not started receiving money from GSM since the agreement was signed
On the other hand, Mbeya City Secretary Emmanuel Kimbe said he was shocked by GSM's move to withdraw believing that the parties would be looking for a solution
"Of course we did not receive any amount from them but that is not a big deal because we knew at any time we could get our share according to the requirements of the contract"
In addition, Kimbe said another challenge facing the clubs was the issue of the GSM logo being present on the teams' jerseys, which would force the cost of repairing their jerseys by removing the GSM logo.
Biashara United Chairman Selemani Mataso said they were waiting to hear what statement TFF would come up with
"For our part we do not have much to say about GSM resignation but we want to see what decisions TFF will make."
Earlier the League Board (TPLB) Chairman, Stephen Mguto when asked said TFF in in the best position to give instructions while TFF insists they are still looking into the matter before making a statement
