Yanga goalkeepers' coach Razak Siwa said Erick Johora demonstrates good ability to block penalty kicks in training and that is why they gave him a chance in the game against Azam Fc
In the semi-final match of the Mapinduzi Cup, Yanga were eliminated from the tournament by a 9-8 penalty shootout with Johora failing to save any shot as was the case with Azam goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya
Siwa said he believes the pressure of the game is what made Johora unable to show his edge but he is the best goalkeeper when it comes to penalty blocking in training
"Johora knew very well that when it came to penalties he had to come in as he is the best in training. It only did'nt go well for him"said Siwa
In addition, Siwa, a Kenyan citizen, said that the technical bench had taken all the blame after Yanga was eliminated from the tournament
Yanga have already returned to Dar es Salaam to prepare for the Premier League match against Coastal Union which will be played on January 16 at Mkwakwani Stadium, Tanga
