President of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), Wallace Karia has issued a statement on GSM sponsorship after many football stakeholders talked a lot about the deal.
One week ago GSM signed a two-year contract with TFF worth Shs 2.1 Billion as co-sponsors in the Mainland Premier League.
Speaking at the Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) Annual General Meeting held yesterday in Morogoro in conjunction with the Board's general election, Karia said the GSM sponsorship is a good thing
"Their sponsorship is good and they are not the owners of Namungo, Coastal or Yanga teams, if so then Coastal Union would not have beaten Yanga last season but they did," said Karia and added;
"I work day and night for Tanzanian clubs to get sponsorship, we are looking for bus sponsorship in various companies just so teams can get transportation"
And GSM Investment Director, Engineer Hersi Said said:
"We are strong people and we cannot be swayed, I promise we are in the final stages of completing sponsordhip"
