Acting Chief Executive Officer of Yanga Senzo Mazingisa has reprimanded journalists who started debates aimed at discouraging investors who are committed to promoting Tanzanian football, GSM being their main target
Senzo also called on the country's football authorities not to remain silent on the controversial initiatives
Through his social media page, Senzo has commented on the discussions;
"It is with utter dismay that we read the ongoing insults directed at our sponsor and our guarantor for no apparent reason . The attitude that is displayed by most media personnel and individuals towards reputable people bringing money into football must be condemned with serious dismay . It cannot be that in these trying times where sponsors are not so keen to be associated with football and we have individuals attacking the very same people who are spending their hard earned money to support football . Is it because @yangasc has improved and doing well under the support of GSM that people see a need to attack our sponsor ? I caution this stupidity and advise that it be dealt with immediately by the concern bodies of sports. What’s wrong with GSM supporting other clubs who are in need of the support . These arguments advances are very minor and targeted at coursing disruption and panic to GSM . Keep up the good work and continue for supporting football GSM , as @yangasc , we are appreciative of your support and financial injection to the club . By the way , this is an indication that the GSM brand is growing and that it is upsetting a number of players in the market , I ask that people support @gsmtanzania #GSM for the investement in football which is one of the important social pilllars in the well-being of Tanzania"
