The Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) Disciplinary and League Management Committee, during a meeting held on November 5, 2026, reviewed various incidents and developments in the NBC Premier League and issued fines to several clubs over offences committed.
Young Africans (Yanga) have been fined TSh 5 million after their supporters threw water bottles towards TRA United’s fitness coach during a match that ended in a goalless draw. The club was also linked to another fine over a separate incident involving its supporters, according to the committee’s statement.
Namungo FC have been fined TSh 10 million after their ball boys deliberately delayed returning balls to the pitch and hid them despite several warnings from the referee. The committee noted that this was a repeated offence during the 2026/2027 season, having also occurred in a match against Geita Gold.
Simba SC have received a TSh 5 million fine after their ball boys were seen pouring water behind Namungo FC’s goal during a match that Simba won 3-2. The committee interpreted the act as suggesting involvement in superstitious practices.
Azam FC have also been fined TSh 5 million after an individual wearing the club’s jersey entered the pitch before the warm-up session, poured liquids near the technical bench and then made gestures calling on Azam players to enter the field.
Meanwhile, Mashujaa FC have been fined TSh 500,000 after six of their players received yellow cards in a match against Yanga, which the home side won 2-1.
According to the TPLB, the sanctions were issued in accordance with various NBC Premier League regulations governing club conduct and match procedures.
