Simba SC, under the leadership of chairman Murtaza Mangungu, have announced that the club’s leadership elections will be held on January 30, 2027, alongside the club’s General Assembly.
In a letter signed by Simba chairman Murtaza Mangungu on November 5, 2026, the club informed branch, district and regional chairpersons, as well as its members, that the meeting will take place on Saturday, January 30, 2027, starting at 9:00 AM EAT. However, the venue for the meeting was not specified in the announcement.
According to the letter, the meeting has been scheduled in accordance with Article 21(1) of the Simba Constitution of 2018, which was amended in November 2025 and registered on February 18, 2026. The election agenda will also be supervised by the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Electoral Committee, in accordance with Articles 20(6) and 22(i) of the club’s constitution.
However, the difference between the dates communicated by the two sides has raised further questions. TFF Electoral Committee chairman, Advocate Kiomoni Kibamba, had earlier insisted that Simba’s elections should be held before January 29, 2027. The club’s leadership has now announced January 30, one day after the deadline previously stated by Kibamba.
