Tanzania Mainland champions Yanga SC are expected to announce their new head coach at any moment after confirming that he has already arrived in the country. The club is now waiting for internal administrative procedures to be completed before making the official announcement.
Yanga Media and Communications Manager Ali Kamwe said the coach is already in Tanzania, with the remaining step being the completion of internal administrative processes before he is officially unveiled as the team's new head coach.
"The coach is already in the country. We are only waiting for the internal procedures to be completed, after which we will introduce him," Kamwe said.
He added that, if everything goes according to plan, the coach could be unveiled at any time from today.
"If everything goes as expected, we could introduce him at any time within the next two days," Kamwe said.
NEW COACH TO TAKE CHARGE OF TEAM PREPARATIONS
Regarding preparations during the approximately three-week break in the NBC Mainland Premier League for the FIFA international calendar, Kamwe said the club has decided to leave the responsibility of planning the team's training programme to the new coach.
He explained that the decision was made to give the coach an opportunity to organise his plans from the outset, especially considering that after the break Yanga will return to league action while also continuing their CAF Champions League group-stage campaign.
The move is expected to give the new coach an opportunity to familiarise himself with the squad, assess the team's needs and develop strategies for the upcoming matches.
RAMOVIC LINKED WITH MNGQITHI'S JOB
As Yanga fans await the announcement of their new coach, the name of former club coach Sead Ramovic has emerged as a possible successor to Manqoba Mngqithi.
Ramovic is familiar with Yanga and the club's environment, making reports of his possible return a subject of growing interest among supporters.
However, Yanga's leadership has not yet officially announced the coach's name, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the anticipated unveiling.
