Young Africans (Yanga) head coach Simon Dladla says his team expects a tough challenge in tomorrow’s Tanzanian Premier League fixture, insisting that their objective is to secure victory and move closer to the league title. Dladla noted that their opponents have strong reasons to fight for a positive result, particularly given their position in the league standings and their need to avoid the threat of relegation.
Speaking to journalists during a pre-match press conference, Dladla said Yanga would not make the mistake of underestimating their opponents based on their position in the standings. He emphasised that every team has its own objectives and can be highly competitive when fighting to achieve them.
The coach cited Yanga’s previous match against TRA United as an example, explaining that it proved challenging despite his team appearing to have a good chance of winning before kick-off. He said the experience had taught them the importance of thorough preparation and treating every match with the seriousness it deserves.
Despite acknowledging the difficulty of the upcoming encounter, Dladla stressed that Yanga have a clear ambition to finish the season at the top of the league table. He said his squad is prepared to fight in every remaining fixture, collect positive results and achieve their ultimate goal of winning the championship.
Dladla’s remarks come as Yanga continue their campaign under a new technical bench following the departure of Manqoba Mngqithi. The club’s supporters will now be looking forward to seeing whether the team can turn their coach’s determination into a positive result on the pitch.
