Tanzania Premier League Board (TPLB) CEO Cornel Barnabas has revealed that coaches from Simba and Yanga will be given two cards during the October 10 Kariakoo Derby, which they can use to request reviews of incidents through the FIFA Video Support (FVS) system.
Cornel said the arrangement is part of new measures aimed at enhancing the use of technology in the management of Tanzania Premier League matches, giving coaches an opportunity to request reviews of incidents they believe require further examination.
Speaking to journalists at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) headquarters in Dar es Salaam ahead of the highly anticipated fixture, Cornel said the system will not be limited to the Kariakoo Derby, but the cards will also be used in other Tanzania Premier League matches.
The October 10 Kariakoo Derby is expected to be one of the matches to put the system under the spotlight, as Simba and Yanga prepare to face each other in a fixture that carries huge pressure both on and off the pitch.
